Website Design with Javascript/PHP- Weebly Basic
harman-homes.com webpage snapshot- Military relocation

Client.

Frank Harman, Realtor, Navarre, Florida. This website design allows visitors to conduct a detailed property search based on local areas and other specific buyer preferences.

Assessment.

Realtor requested a simple, clean site that reflects the alluring call of living in a beach community setting. The target audience includes the local military population as well as both male and female clients.

Improvement.

Features include a quick search form using PHP. Scripting provides links to a user interface with the database based on five criteria choices. Buttons utilizing JavaScript events and functions supply forms to request more information and to request a home showing. Although the website builder and Weebly theme do not allow certain editing of HTML/CSS, needed changes were accomplished by direct editing of the original coding in the file manager of the web host.

Must Haves.

The website budget allocated most of its resources to connect to Flexmls IDX database, rather than on the hosting service and website builder. Other important website features include displaying real-time Facebook news feed, client testimonials, embedded videos, and blog posts.

Development.

Initially, the client planned on updating and maintaining the site himself. Due to time constraints, he opted for the developer to conduct maintenance. Maintenance is conducted when new content is available. The website is mobile compatible. Maintenance performed by the client.

Take Aways.

UX Design- (User Experience) continues to be an important attribute in today’s overall website design process. This practice involves a two-fold approach.

  1. Does your content anticipate and answer the questions a visitor may ask? If users cannot easily find what they need, they will leave your site to look elsewhere.
  2. Is the important content strategically placed on your site, so that visitors will be inclined to act upon your Call-To-Actions?
