Client.
The website design and development markets a local business owned by Daniel Pham. Located in Guyton, GA, the small welding business continues to grow and provides exceptional metal services and repairs for customers in the Coastal Empire.
Mr. Pham operates a welding and metal business that provides onsite services to his clients.
Must Haves.
Mr. Pham desired a condensed one-page design that showcases his professional abilities and encourages new clients to inquire about his services.
The design includes photographs of his most recent projects and icons that allow the user to see a wide range of applications for his services.
The website does include two additional pages, one for privacy policy information and the other for a contact form.
Design.
The simple website design provides a navigation bar that links to the appropriate page section. Additional information presents in the form of popup modals, such as his warranty information and his professional credentials.
The overall appearance of the site reflects a dark mode, giving reference to welders and the sparks that result from conducting such work.
Slight animation works to keep the viewer intrigued with Mr. Pham’s work. Movement appears in the main slider as well as bringing focus to individual sections of the page.
Development.
Links to the client’s social media accounts. This gives the opportunity to drive more visitors to the website and promotes the local business.
The site utilizes compressed images, icons, animation, popup modals, and multiple Call-To-Action buttons.
When appropriate, scalable graphic vectors (.svg), are used on the website to provide good resolution.
Search Engine Optimization using Yoast SEO increases the results of relevant Internet queries. Pages contain the necessary focus words and meta descriptions.
Meeting security needs, the site provides an adequate security certificate (SSL).
The website meets the responsive needs of viewers on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Take Aways.
Animation can give your website a unique and customized appearance.
Movement keeps the visitor’s eyes directed to important and selected areas of the webpage. The animation should be used sparingly and appropriately. Too much movement detracts and discourages the user. Animations that go overboard could slow down web loading speed as well as cause accessibility issues.
An additional way to use animation on your webpage is to animate scalable vectors. See this animation in action.
