Client.

This website design uses the WordPress content management system for this local independent insurance agent. Previous attempts to design their own website with the GoDaddy website builder proved to be too time-consuming.

Must Haves.

Mr. McNeal, a local independent insurance agent,  wished to provide an easy to navigate  website for his current and potential clients. Call-to-Action opportunities, professional and clean appearance, and important insurance information were listed in his requested “must-haves”. The WordPress content management system offers many design options, and it provides a user-friendly format for website maintenance.

Design.

The user can quickly browse the website through the top menu bar. In addition, the footer section includes additional page and social media links. On each webpage throughout the site, Call-to-Action’s (CTA’s) provide multiple ways to contact Mr. McNeal (phone, text, or form submission).

UX (User-Experience) Design allows for the website to attract the millennial generation, the intended target audience. This focus group desires compelling storytelling, quick direct information, and immediate access (provided through texting options).

The overall aesthetic appearance of the site drew from the inspiration of the local hometown feel of the area, Pooler, Georgia (located outside Savannah).

Development.

To meet the needs of the target audience, crucial development features include fast website loading speed and mobile responsiveness.

At the time of website completion by Southernfolks Designs, the Pingdom Website Speed Test gave a passing performance score-91. In addition, accessibility, best practices, and Search Engine Optimization evaluations were exceptional. The site includes a privacy policy and SSL certificate for encryption of sending personal information over the Internet.

To continue to receive these results, ongoing website maintenance must be conducted. Currently, the John McNeal Agency completes these tasks.

Take-Aways.

Knowing your target audience and implementing features directed at that audience increases the opportunity for more website interaction and ultimately more business revenue. Prior to starting a website project, research the likes and dislikes of the ideal targeted internet user or groups. Design and develop webpages with them in mind.  See more about determining your Target Audience.

In addition, include content that makes you or your business different than others. Make sure to clearly demonstrate those qualities on the site.
